U.S. World Cup Team: Sucked. Claudio Reyna is retiring, he won't be missed. Bruce Arena should join him. Meanwhile the U.S. 2010 team coach has just led Germany to the quarters. The quickest solution would be to send Donovan to Europe, send Adu to Europe and let him know he's still loved (there's no way in hell he's playing for Ghana) and let the Europeans develop them into playmakers. The MLS is no way to prepare for a World Cup.
David Wright's MVP Watch: Currently the best baseball player to ever live is batting .337 with 18 home runs and 63 RBIs. Last night he was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer. In his last seven Wright is batting .370 (10-for-27) with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. He ranks in the top 10 in most offensive categorys.
Florida State: As summer practices begin the Seminoles have booted wide receiver Kenny O'Neal from the squad and allowed cornerback Trevor Ford to transfer to a location not yet determined. Well at least one state-sponsored school knows what to do with problem children while our friends in Gainesville are steadily waffling given their dearth of quality cornerbacks. Actually to Atkins' credit he wants to leave but super tough-guy Urban Meyer won't let him.
"I've talked to him, talked to his family," Meyer said. "We feel like it's in
his best interest to try to fight through this and not be scared of the issues."
Translation: Our other cornerbacks suck, we'll need him by October.
Meanwhile I couldn't tell you why O'Neal was kicked off but he left the track team midway through the semester so something tells me that a bit of weed was involved. As for Ford, that sucks, I honestly thought he was the best cornerback in the program and would finally breakthrough this year.
Well I have a party to attend so while I hate to be rude, I must be going.
